November Local RI Artists

We are so thankful to be able to support our local Rhode Island artists by offering them a showcase in 2 of our offices, Narragansett and Jamestown. For November we have Cheryl Colarusso showcasing in our Narragansett Office and Hilary Archer showcasing in our Jamestown office.

About the Artist – Cheryl Colarusso

Cheryl Colarusso is the artist behind Wandering Princess Treasures. A few years ago, she and her husband started traveling to Florida. While there she became obsessed with seashells and their simple yet vibrant beauty. She would set out and spend countless hours strolling the beaches collecting “treasures”. One day after looking at the mounds of shells, sea glass & pieces of Anastasia rock she had collected he said “Cheryl, what in the world are you going to do with all of these shells?” She simply replied “I guess I’ll have to get creative ” And so, Wandering Princess Treasures was born. Each & every piece of her coastal artwork is lovingly created from her heart. Some of the pieces are similar in design yet none of them are identical as each shell, rock, piece of glass or other treasure is unique to itself. Creating these unique pieces brings Cheryl’s heart joy and feeds her soul. They truly are a labor of love.

About the Artist – Hilary Archer

Hillary is a visual artist, graphic designer and recent Jamestown resident. Originally from Fairfield County, CT, she is inspired by animals – both domestic and wild, which led her to complete a certificate in Natural Science Illustration at RISD in the spring of 2020. Hillary also has her BA from Bowdoin College and an MFA in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

“From early on, I”ve always been fascinated by the unique soulfulness of animals that I feel invites us to better understand the things we share with them, as well as what sets us apart. As an artist, I like to find inspiration in my batural surroundings, which often means going out to photograph and observe from life so that I can create pieces in the studio that reflect my sybjects in their most natural state.”
